"Transinterpreter" (a new term)

A translator and interpreter

I have recently coined the term TRANSINTERPRETER (*) to mean people like me, someone who works as a translator and interpreter at the same time.

Normally, these tasks (translation and interpreting) are performed by different professionals as translating text and real-time interpreting require very different skill sets. However, some linguists are able to do both so they are called transinterpreters.

I see all translators and all interpreters of the 21st Century becoming Transinterpreters. The two arms of this one body will work in unison and there will be no differentiation as to the role of the translator or the role of the interpreter but rather, both roles will complement each other in a professional called the TRANSINTERPRETER.
